Welcome to SpeakShadow Coach ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring transparency about how we handle information in our mobile application.
Key Point: SpeakShadow Coach is designed with privacy first. All your data is stored locally on your device, and we do not collect, transmit, or store any personal information on our servers.
Information We Do NOT Collect
SpeakShadow Coach is an offline-first application. We do not collect:
- Personal identification information (name, email, phone number)
- Location data
- Contact lists or address books
- Photos, videos, or media files
- Browsing history
- Device identifiers (except as noted below for advertising)
Data Stored on Your Device
The following data is stored locally on your device and is never transmitted to our servers:
- Vocabulary entries: Words, meanings, and example sentences you add
- Session data: Your daily practice checklist progress
- Voice recordings: Audio files you record for pronunciation practice
- Summaries: Text summaries you write
- App preferences: Language settings and other preferences
Important: If you uninstall the app, all locally stored data will be deleted. We recommend using the backup feature in Settings to export your data before uninstalling.
Third-Party Services
Google AdMob
We use Google AdMob to display advertisements in the app. AdMob may collect certain information to serve personalized or non-personalized ads, including:
- Advertising ID (can be reset or disabled in your device settings)
- IP address
- Device information (model, operating system)
- Ad interaction data

Opting Out of Personalized Ads
You can opt out of personalized advertising by:
- Adjusting your device's advertising settings
- Resetting your Advertising ID
- Enabling "Opt out of Ads Personalization" in your device settings
Permissions
SpeakShadow Coach requires the following permissions:
- Microphone: Required to record your voice for pronunciation practice. Voice recordings are stored only on your device.
- Internet: Required only for displaying advertisements. The app's core functionality works completely offline.
Children's Privacy
SpeakShadow Coach is suitable for users of all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Since all data is stored locally and we don't collect personal information, the app is safe for users under 13 years of age.
Data Security
Since all your data is stored locally on your device:
- Your data is protected by your device's built-in security features
- We cannot access, view, or modify your data
- No data is transmitted over the internet (except for ad requests)
Your Rights
You have full control over your data:
- Access: View all your data directly in the app
- Export: Use the backup feature to export your database
- Delete: Delete individual items or uninstall the app to remove all data
